Services

The JKM Library staff are here to meet the research needs of McCormick and LSTC students, staff, and faculty.  We provide and can help you to use:

  • Extensive e-resources, including e-books, online journals, database articles, and many other online sources
  • Millions of print books from JKM, nearly 100 I-Share libraries, or UChicago
  • Scanning and delivery of book chapters and articles via both JKM and UChicago (within fair use provisions of copyright)
  • And if the resources you need aren't already available, you can request that we purchase new e-resources (within the constraints of budget and availability).

To assist you in using our resources, reach out to Laura Frost (lfrost@jkmlibrary.org) for:

  • Full-class instruction on how to conduct research
  • A one-on-one session on how to use resources (for students, staff, or faculty!)
  • Ideas for faculty professional development you'd like to see
  • Practical tips on how to integrate research into your assignments seamlessly
  • Assistance in avoiding plagiarism
  • Citation conundrums (how do I cite a TikTok video?  how do I cite AI?  etc.)

During the semester, library staff — with input from deans and faculty — will periodically review our services and policies and make appropriate adjustments accordingly.
