Beginning this month, JKM users now enjoy access to EBSCO's Academic Search Complete, compliments of our membership in the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois (CARLI) (the same folks who bring us I-Share). ASC is considered the largest academic database available with the most full-text journals and depth of coverage, with over 13,780 indexed and abstracted journals, 9,000 full-text journals (7,850 of them peer-reviewed).

WorldCat is now WorldCat Discovery, with a much more intuitive, user-friendly ( think Amazon.com) interface, through which you can search the holdings of thousands of libraries around the world and place interlibrary loans. Before placing an interlibrary loan request, however, please check the holdings of the I-Share libraries first through the catalog. If a requested item is held by an I-Share library, we'll notify you that you can place the request yourself through the catalog.

CARLI, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois, has entered a pilot project to provide over 29,000 ebook titles in the humanities and social sciences to JKM and the other 85 I-Share libraries. Here’s how it works:

Because of maintenance on McCormick's network and servers this coming weekend, both on- and off-campus access to digital resources will be unavailable. McCormick IT hopes to restore access by Monday 12 May 2014.

Congratulations to all LSTC and McCormick students who will be graduating in May! Before you leave, please stop by the library to return any JKM or I-Share library materials that are still charged to your account, and have us update your status to alumnus/alumna (alumni have local borrowing privileges at JKM, but not at any I-Share or University of Chicago libraries), along with any change of information.
